Leslee Balten

Prior to taking the bench I was a partner at Ciancio Ciancio Brown, PC. My practice focused on civil litigation, business, and family law. I received my Bachelor of Arts with honors from Michigan State University, spending semesters in Mexico and South East Asia.After undergrad I received my J.D. from Vermont Law School, a school consistently ranked as the top environmental law programs in the nation, where I was awarded honors in legal writing and research.Upon completion of law school I worked as a civil and criminal law clerk for the Honorable Catherine A. Lemon, at the Denver District Court. Additionally, I clerked for: the Cascade Land Conservancy in Seattle, Washington working on environmental issues and real estate transactions; International Service for Human Rights in New York, New York as a liaison to the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues; and Belgravia Group, Ltd., in Chicago, Illinois focusing on contract and real estate matters.
