About Joe Duncan

Joe Duncan is a member in the firm. His practice consists of the defense of claims relating to personal injury, product liability, contractual disputes and insurance defense at both the trial and appellate levels. Using the lessons that are often learned from litigation, Joe also spends a great deal of time working with contractors, trade groups and insurance carriers to reduce the risk of liability through business and contractual practices. Joe has represented a diverse spectrum of clients, ranging from Fortune 500 Companies and product manufacturers to contractors in start up businesses. In addition to his favorable trial experience, he has successfully handled appellate cases which focus on job site liability as well as the indemnity and insurance issues that may arise from the same incidents. Most recently, in Ex parte Capstone, Joe successfully argued for the Alabama Supreme Court to reduce the statute of limitations for wanton personal injury claims to two years from six years. He is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell, has been recognized among Birmingham’s best construction attorneys by Birmingham Magazine, and listed among Birmingham’s Best Attorneys by b metro magazine. Joe has been published in the Alabama Law Review and co-authored “Design for Safety: A Team Sport”, which is a white paper focusing on efforts to minimize construction hazard through design.
