My favorite part of my job involves counseling employers before they have made a bad (or even possibly illegal) decision. Meaning that I love to help employers of any size get to the not only the "right" answer, but also the "legally advisable" answer using the best process possible. This requires analyzing not only a specific employment decision, but also the policy implications, as well as the effect of the decision on the organization as a whole. While my background is in traditional litigation (including class action defense), my goal is to help employers and other potential litigants avoid litigation entirely, by reducing possible exposure through thoughtfully approaching problems, and (if necessary) by quickly and efficiently resolving disputes. Of course, I'm not afraid to do battle, for the cases that require a judicial resolution.
