About Michael Pitton
Michael J. Pitton (now retired) was the founding attorney of Pitton Law P.C., and served as an arbitrator, mediator and outside neutral investigator to assist in the resolution of cases using various alternative dispute resolution methods. He has taught numerous courses in arbitration law and practice for more than 20 years as a member of the adjunct faculty at the University of Iowa College of Law, and has provided training for attorneys to serve as arbitrators. Mr. Pitton applied creative strategies and experience gained through more than four decades of multistate litigation including trials, appeals, arbitrations, mediations and administrative hearings representing both plaintiffs and defendants. He was licensed to practice law in the states of Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois, and has served as an alternative dispute resolution neutral since 1996.
