Chris Esker

I joined Roderick Linton Belfance, LLP in June, 2008, returning to my Downtown Akron roots, where my practice includes litigation generally, including trials and appeals. I can be reached at cesker@rlbllp.com and www.rlbllp.com/christopher-esker . Prior to joining Roderick Linton Belfance, LLP, I was a partner at Akron's Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLP. I previously served as an assistant prosecuting attorney for the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office, Civil Division, representing all County entities, offices, townships and boards in civil litigation and matters of statewide jurisdiction; as judicial attorney to Judge Mary F. Spicer, Summit County Court of Common Pleas, and the late Honorable John W. Reece, Ninth Judicial District Court of Appeals; and as associate attorney with the law firm of Perantinides & Nolan, LPA. I was a member of the Akron Law Review, and while in law school, served as a law clerk with the United States Attorney, Northern District of Ohio, Cleveland. I was honored by Ohio Super Lawyer Magazine in its December, 2013 issue as an Ohio Super Lawyer in the area of Civil Defense Litigation for 2014, 2015, and 2016, and I was recognized for the fourth consecutive year by “Inside Business Magazine” in December, 2010 as a Leading Lawyer in Northeast Ohio in litigation practice. I have also earned the distinction of a Martindale-Hubbell AV rating. Specialties: I focus my practice on complex and commercial litigation, insurance issues, commercial litigation, personal injury, real estate and probate litigation, administrative law, and general appeals, including domestic relations and criminal appeals in state and federal courts. Although my practice is primarily located in Ohio, I have been admitted by order to matters in New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Florida, and in several federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court.I also serve as counsel to the Akron, Bath and Copley Joint Township Hospital District.
