Ryan Martin

I am a Principal in the Cincinnati, Ohio office of Jackson Lewis P.C. I have an extensive litigation and counseling practice and represent employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including issues related to discrimination, harassment, retaliatory discharge, wrongful discharge, wage and hour matters, ERISA matters, class actions, leave management matters, traditional labor matters, affirmative action plans, and trade secret and non-competition agreements. I am also experienced in public records and open meetings litigation. Litigation Practice - I represent small businesses, mid-sized companies, and national employers in all facets of litigation – from administrative agencies like the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the National Labor Relations Board to bench and jury trials in federal and state courts. I have successfully obtained summary judgment and dismissals in many cases but also work with businesses to find and negotiate common-sense resolutions to disputes where appropriate. I have significant experience litigating class and collective actions under the FLSA, ERISA and applicable state laws. Counseling Practice - In addition to my litigation practice, I work diligently to keep employers out of the courtroom by providing clear, concise guidance on the spectrum of employment law issues. I counsel large, multi-state employers and local businesses regarding their leave management, wage and hour, non-compete, and other employment law concerns. I also have a significant traditional labor practice and regularly counsel employers on election and unfair labor practice issues. While attending law school, I served as Articles Editor for the University of Cincinnati Law Review. Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, I served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Sandra S. Beckwith, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. I live in Independence, Kentucky with my wife, Erin, and four children.
