Thomas Hill

I am a lawyer with Kegler, Brown, Hill + Ritter, focused primarily on representing clients in all aspects of complex litigation. My clients include privately held and publicly owned businesses of all sizes, nonprofit agencies, and individuals in need of an experienced litigator and trial lawyer. I have litigated countless disputes to either a successful outcome and/or a favorable settlement. For over 20 years, I have been recognized by peer-review and objective industry rating services as one the leading litigators in Columbus and the State of Ohio. I have been a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers since 1998. I have been listed in The Best Lawyers in America® since 1994. In 2013, I was ranked in the top five litigators in Columbus and featured in Columbus CEO Magazine. Chambers USA has given me its highest ranking, “Band 1”, since 2013. Fewer than ten lawyers in Ohio received that ranking in each of those years. I love practicing law and representing and advocating for clients. Driving my work is my goal to achieve my client’s goals in the most efficient and effective way. This has always been my “north star.” To accomplish this, I stay in close contact every step of the way. I know from decades of experience that powerful advocacy comes from a thorough understanding of the facts and the law presented to a court or jury in a logically sound way and pleasing tone. Powerful advocacy also results in favorable settlements. I keep a constant eye out for any way to resolve cases short of trial, if it can be reasonably done. Service outside the practice of law is important to me. I am currently the President of the Columbus Bar Foundation, which is dedicated to promoting understanding of the law, the role of the legal profession and access to justice for all. I am also currently the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of The McCoy Center for the Arts, a state-of-the-art theatre and performing arts complex in New Albany, Ohio, where my family and I live.
