John Gonzales

I received my undergraduate degree from Marshall University in 1984 and my law degree from Capital University Law School in 1987. While in Law School, I was the Editor-in-Chief of the Capital University Law Review as well as a member of the National Moot Court Team. Following law school, I began working at the Columbus law firm, Crabbe, Brown, Jones, Potts & Schmidt. While at Crabbe Brown, I represented a number of insurance companies including Nationwide, Farmers, Kemper, USAA, Westfield and Allstate. I was also a member of the firm’s Chrysler Corporation product liability litigation team. During my seven years at Crabbe, Brown, Jones, Potts, & Schmidt, I handled dozens of wrongful death and serious personal injury cases. From 1994 to 1999, I worked at Plymale & Associates concentrating my practice in the area of personal injury and wrongful death, representing plaintiffs. I am credited with having the largest verdict recorded in Pickaway County at 4.5 million dollars. I am a board certified civil trial lawyer and a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. In January 2000, I opened my own firm in Westerville, Ohio, with an emphasis in tort and business litigation as well as mediation. As the demands of my successful solo practice grew, I decided to associate with The Robert J. Behal Law Offices, LLC. In January of 2008, I officialy became Of Counsel with The Robert J. Behal Law Offices, LLC, and eventually a partner in today’s firm, The Behal Law Group LLC. Over the last decade, I have represented parties in over a hundred mediations and increasingly, have been called upon to mediate personal injury cases. I have completed general mediation training as well as divorce mediation training. This training, along with my years of experience as a board certified civil trial lawyer, afford me a unique perspective for facilitating settlement negotiations in personal injury and domestic cases. Specialties: I am a civil trial lawyer with more than 75 jury trials to verdict. I handle everything from business disputes to serious injury or wrongful death cases. My unique experience of representing both plaintiffs and defendants in civil trials over the years has allowed me to serve as a mediator in hundreds of cases. I also help companies save on litigation costs by assessing their litigation needs.
