M.Scott McIntyre

Scott McIntyre has a national and local employment and labor practice that encompasses the full range of litigation, compliance matters and employment counseling. Scott serves as office Coordinator of the employment and labor practice for BakerHostetler. He has been named one of five national Rising Stars in employment law by Law 360. Scott is a board certified Specialist in employment and labor law by the Ohio State Bar Association. He has also been named a Leading Lawyer for business by Chambers USA and an Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Star. Scott's clients come from the media, technology, transportation, healthcare, financial, retail, automotive, manufacturing and service industries, among others. Scott defends employers against whistleblower claims, claims of discrimination and retaliation and represents clients in matters involving corporate investigations, social media and privacy. His recent litigation experience includes a federal jury trial victory in 2012 on behalf of an employer in a high stakes discrimination lawsuit filed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). He has vast experience in noncompete matters and injunctive relief, including trade secret, unfair competition, corporate raiding and other restrictive covenants. Scott has recently obtaind a dismissal on behalf of a large ecommerce retailer in a lawsuit seeking a temporary restraining order and injunction due to trade secret misappropriation allegations. He provides advice and defense on all aspects of federal and state employment and labor law. He clerked for Judges on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the United States District Court in Kentucky.
