Mark Berman

Mark A. Berman is a member (and former Chair) of HDRB&B's Litigation & White-Collar Criminal Defense Department. He is an experienced trial attorney and appellate litigator who represents individual and corporate clients in complex business and shareholder disputes, federal criminal cases, estate litigation and other contested matters in the state and federal courts of New Jersey, New York, and Vermont. Mark routinely works with (or against) other large firms and many of his cases have been national and international in scope. He is admitted to practice in multiple federal district and circuit courts and in the States of New Jersey, New York, and Vermont. Mark has been included in Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers for Business and in Best Lawyers in America® and, since 2011, has been selected to the list of “Top 100” Super Lawyers® in New Jersey. Mark graduate from Columbia Law School and holds a master’s degree in Public International Law from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University. After law school, he clerked for the Honorable Leonard I. Garth on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and then joined Weil, Gotshal & Manges in New York City as a litigation associate. Prior to joining HDRB&B, Mark was a partner at Gibbons, P.C., one of New Jersey’s largest law firms. During his tenure at Gibbons, he served as the firm’s hiring partner and as staffing partner for the White-Collar Criminal Law Department.
