Kurt Krauss

I have extensive litigation experience in the professional, commercial and business tort fields including employment law, trade secret litigation, non-competition agreements and unfair competition suits, as well as private education law, environmental litigation, defense of institutional sexual abuse claims, insurance coverage, condominium and condemnation law matters before New Jersey State and Federal courts. I represent a number of private institutions and businesses as outside General Counsel. I approach all of my work with the utmost of professionalism, while at the same time striving for most common sense and cost effective resolution of my clients' issues. I am trained in alternate dispute resolution including mediation and have served as a mediator in the Superior Court of New Jersey. I am a co-author of Trade Secret and Restrictive Covenant Litigation In New Jersey, New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education (1995). I lecture on the topic of sexual abuse claims law for NJICLE. I am the former Vice Chairman of the Boonton Township Planning Board (1998-2006), former Member and Chair of the District X Ethics Committee (2002-2006), and have been appointed by the Superior Court of New Jersey to serve as a Condemnation Commissioner in Morris County. I am a member of the Morris County Bar Association, Chair of the Committee on Professionalism and a former Trustee of the Morris County Bar Association (2012-2016). Specialties: I represent my clients in Federal and State courts including courts of Chancery throughout the State of New Jersey in business disputes, shareholder litigation, unfair competition cases, trade secret disputes and non-competion agreements as well as defense of legal malpractice claims, environmental and sexual abuse litigation and insurance coverage disputes. I serve as outside General Counsel to a variety of private institutions and businesses and handle contract, employment and school issues. I also represent attorneys in ethics matters throughout the State of New Jersey.
