Tricia O’Reilly

As a commercial litigator, I represent clients in state and federal courts in matters involving contract disputes, shareholder oppression, unfair competition, fraudulent business practices, healthcare, intellectual property, and antitrust litigation. I have handled matters for clients in a wide array of industries, including pharmaceuticals, health insurance, financial services, higher education, construction, chemical, real estate, and other products and services industries. I also have extensive experience in representing large public and private employers, with a concentration on institutions of higher education in employment matters. My experiences includes a broad range of litigation and counseling services involving claims of discrimination, harassment and retaliation arising under state and federal anti-discrimination and whistleblower statutes, including ADEA, Title VII, Title IX, ADA, FMLA, NJLAD, and CEPA, in addition to wrongful discharge, breach of employment contracts, restrictive covenants and trade secrets claims. I regularly counsel clients on employment issues to avoid or reduce the risks of litigation. I have conducted numerous internal investigations on behalf of employers into allegations of wrongdoing. Such experience includes investigations of sexual harassment and/or assault, gender discrimination, race-based harassment, disability discrimination, threatening and abusive conduct, Sarbanes-Oxley issues, mismanagement, violation of internal programs and policies, and retaliatory actions for engaging in protected activity involving alleged unlawful activity of varying types. Prior to joining Connell Foley in 1994, I served as a law clerk to the Honorable Nicholas H. Politan, former United States District Court Judge for the District of New Jersey.
