About Thomas Wehner

I have a Juris Doctorate from Villanova University School of Law. I have been practicing for over 37 years, including having been a shareholder at the law firm Litvin, Blumberg, Matusow & Young, one of the most prestigious plaintiff's personal injury firms in Philadelphia. My practice included defending insureds from multi-million dollar claims. My specialties include representing catastrophically injured plaintiffs , construction site accident litigation, strict products liability cases, medical malpractice, high exposure insurance defense claims and representing employers/carriers in worker's compensation claims. I am an experienced trial attorney with a proven history of providing individual attention to all clients’ needs, effectively representing their interests and maximizing the value of each claim to benefit both the client and the firm. For the last 10+ years, I have focused my practice exclusively representing employers, insurance carriers and TPA’s in workers’ compensation cases in PA and NJ, including numerous claims for total disability. Demonstrated skills, as first or second chair, include handling severe personal injury cases involving catastrophic injuries resulting from construction site and auto accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, defective products and civil rights violations. I have handled more than 30 cases involving recoveries of 8, 7 and high 6 figure settlements or verdicts for injured clients, including: $5.25 million for an iron worker who was severely burned and fell when a steel beam came in contact with an electrical transformer which was too close to the construction site and had failed to be deenergized; $1.6 million for a granite-cutting saw operator whose skull was crushed by the defective product; $2.4 million for an iron worker who fell from the roof of the UPS building at the Philadelphia International Airport while constructing a standing seam metal roof system; $13.2 million for a husband and wife who were struck head on while driving over a local bridge by a suspect being chased at high speed by bridge police during heavy traffic; $1.12 million for an iron worker whose leg was severely fractured when a steel column fell as a result of inadequate anchor bolt settings; $3.4 million for an iron worker who suffered a spinal cord injury when a concrete contractor used an improper piece of plywood to cover a floor opening which fell, striking the iron worker in the neck. Defense verdict in restaurant fire case representing the duct cleaning company for a claimed total loss of the restaurant.
