Devlan Geddes

Devlan grew up in Junction City, Oregon. He moved to Bozeman, Montana in 1992 to attend Montana State University and play football for the Fighting Bobcats. Devlan was a four year starter at defensive end for the Bobcats and earned All-Big Sky Honors and All-American Honors for his athletic and academic achievements. Devlan graduated from Montana State University with a unique degree combining Justice Studies and Physics. In 2022, Devlan was inducted into the Montana State University Athletic Hall of Fame.Devlan attended law school at the University of Oregon in Eugene. He graduated in the top 10% of his law school class and was elected the Editor-in-Chief of the Oregon Law Review.After law school, Devlan started his legal career at Preston, Gates & Ellis (now K&L Gates) in Seattle, Washington. Devlan’s practice in Seattle focused primarily on intellectual property and commercial litigation.In 2002, Devlan returned to Bozeman to join Goetz, Geddes, & Gardner, P.C. Devlan quickly developed a broad based practice representing both plaintiffs and defendants in complex litigation matters. He has represented litigants in matters ranging from anti-trust violations, natural gas royalty disputes, class actions, personal injury claims, property disputes, and securities violations. Devlan is also leading the charge in Montana to preserve access to public land, rivers, and lakes through his representation of Public Lands/Water Access Association, Inc.Devlan is a member of the American Bar Association, American Association for Justice, and the Montana Trial Lawyers association. Devlan is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Montana Justice Foundation, which is a charitable, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting equal access to justice for all Montanans.Devlan is licensed to practice in Montana and Washington.Devlan is married and has three children.
