William Wright

William, a Jackson native, is a partner with Heidelberg Patterson Welch Wright, PLLC in Ridgeland, Mississippi. He practices exclusively in the family law area. He graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1974, having previously graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with MBA and BSBA degrees. Before entering law school, William served as a First Lieutenant in the First Infantry Division of the U.S. Army (1970-72). He is diplomat in the American College of Family Trial Lawyers (acftl.com); a fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (aaml.org) and also in the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (iaml.org). He has been a MidSouth Super Lawyer since its inception and was included in Top 50 Lawyers in Mississippi for 2008, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017 by SuperLawyers (superlawyers.com). In 2010, William was named by the Mississippi Business Journal as one of Mississippi's 50 Leading Attorneys. He has been included in Best Lawyers in America in the family law area since 2001 and was named Lawyer of the Year in 2013 and 2018. William served as Chairman of the Family Law Section of the Mississippi Bar for two terms and President of the Capital Area Bar Association for one term. He was presented the Professionalism Award by CABA in 2015. William is married to DeAnn Hall Wright. They have two daughters. Julia, a graduate of Samford University, is a marriage and family therapist in Jackson, and Anna, an Ole Miss graduate, is a pharmacist at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. The Wrights belong to First Presbyterian Church in Jackson.
