Philip Mcknight

Phil is an employee benefits attorney and his practice focuses on all aspects of executive compensation, employee benefits and ERISA matters. He helps clients remain compliant with legal complexities and plays a significant role with respect to advising clients and members of the firm’s corporate and banking groups relating to employee benefits matters in business acquisitions and dispositions. He is one of the firm's primary attorney responsible for advising public and private clients with respect to executive compensation, equity compensation arrangements and stock plans. Phil’s practice includes advising clients on the tax and design aspects of executive compensation and employee benefits arrangements; structuring and implementing all forms of qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, equity and phantom-equity compensation arrangements and stock plans, carried interest arrangements, welfare benefit plans, deferred compensation, and severance and other executive programs. He represents executives and management teams in negotiating employment agreements and incentive arrangements. Phil also advises employers on welfare plan issues including the Affordable Care Act, COBRA, Section 125 cafeteria compliance and design and the creation and maintenance of welfare wrap plans. He is a regular presenter at the firm’s and other regional conferences on employee benefit and equity compensation matters.
