About Ryan Kauffman
Colleges and universities in Michigan and beyond must grapple with increasingly complex legal and regulatory challenges. From student affairs policies and Title IX, to employment issues and litigation actions, there are many potential obstacles that stand in the way of higher education institutions focusing on their core educational mission. As a Shareholder at Fraser Trebilcock and Chair of the firm's Higher Education industry group, I help my clients address a variety of complex legal matters. I work with them to evaluate and mitigate risks, and vigorously advocate for them when litigation arises. In addition to my work for higher education institutions, I represent a broad range of business clients in the areas of employment law and insurance defense. I frequently write articles on issues of importance to my clients in multiple legal publications, such as Law & Business Report and Ingham County Legal News, as well as Fraser Trebilcock’s blog. I am also involved in various associations including the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan.
