Both practical and resourceful, I work with businesses and individuals to solve their most pressing legal issues. My work spans regulatory, administrative, education and employment law, as well as criminal and civil litigation. With a national practice, I have tried cases in federal and state courts and made numerous appearances before administrative tribunals in Washington, D.C. HIGHER EDUCATION Colleges and universities turn to me when faced with complex legal and regulatory issues, including compliance, employment law, contracts, certification and accreditation issues, and matters involving the state and federal Department of Education, Title IV student financial aid issues, student consumer issues and student bankruptcy. PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE Licensed professionals seek my guidance when their livelihood is threatened. I represent professionals before the Board of Registration in Medicine, the Board of Registration in Dentistry, the Board of Registration of Psychologists, the Board of Registration of Social Workers and the Board of Registration in Nursing, to name a few. In addition to licensing issues, I represent professionals in a variety of matters, including disciplinary actions, fraud and abuse investigations and third-party audits. CRIMINAL DEFENSE When businesses or individuals are charged with a crime or under investigation by federal or state authorities, I provide advice and counsel. I have successfully resolved and tried matters involving OUI, assault and battery, and theft. EMPLOYMENT LAW Well-versed in the multitude of issues that can arise during the employer-employee relationship, I have successfully resolved cases involving discrimination, breach of contract, non-competition agreements, wrongful termination and sexual harassment. NONPROFIT LAW I have significant non-profit experience, including serving as General Counsel to Planet Aid Inc. and Save One Life, Inc.
