MARK Adams

Drawing on my more than 30 years of experience defending employers in all manner of employment claims and litigation before federal and state courts and regulatory agencies, I help employers stay out of court by avoiding costly lawsuits and agency charges. I counsel employers on the development of effective human resources policies, procedures, and strategies for complying with federal and state labor and employment laws and limiting exposure to employment claims and litigation, union organizing, and government agency investigations. I have a particular focus on federal contract compliance, including the development and implementation of affirmative action programs and the defense of compliance reviews. I founded Jones Walker's Labor & Employment Practice Group and served as its chair until 2006. I also served as a member of Jones Walker's executive committee from 2001–2006. From 1992 through 2019, I was editor-in-chief of the Louisiana Employment Law Letter, a monthly report designed especially for human resource professionals on new developments and emerging trends in labor and employment law. Since January 2020, I have served as an editor of the Southeast Employment Law Letter, which covers the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida. I also am a founding member of the Employers Counsel Network, a select coalition of leading labor and employment law practitioners representing each of the 50 United States and Canada. Throughout my career, I have been a frequent speaker at professional meetings and seminars and have authored numerous papers and articles for professional and trade journals.
