Director in a civil litigation practice in New Orleans with particular experience in workers' compensation, construction, first party coverage disputes and complex, multi-party litigation. The Firm was founded in 1999 and our attorneys share over fifty years combined legal experience. Admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and all Louisiana federal and state courts. My client successes include developing a goal oriented litigation strategy and claims process in the wake of a $1 billion United States Army Corps of Engineer funded urban drainage project that resulted in over 1,000 claims of property damage, half of which resulted in litigation, levied against my client, the project’s non-Federal public sponsor. Also at stake was an additional $400 million in USACE financed construction activity contingent in part upon gaining control over the litigation and claims processes. Due to my efforts less than twenty-five percent of all settlements or judgments have been funded by the firm’s client. The Firm previously created a new paradigm relative to the handling of worker’s compensation claims on behalf of several large Louisiana self-insured employers through aggressive yet efficient tactics which increased the closure rate of litigated claims and, anecdotally, decreased the number of frivolous or otherwise insubstantial claims, thereby avoiding litigation in the first place. After reevaluating our core values we have since changed our focus to representing injured workers, recovering millions in benefits on their behalf. Born and raised in blue collar Richmond, California, I am a proud graduate of Fisk University and Tulane Law School. I am grounded in Louisiana. My mother is from Scotlandville and attended Scotlandville HS and Southern University, my grandmother taught school in Covington, and my great-grandmother lived in Treme (New Orleans).
