Christopher Forrest

Christopher ("Chris") Forrest is the founding member of Forrest Legal LLC. Mr. Forrest comes from one of the state's largest and most prestigious law firms, Barnes & Thornburg LLP. After practicing several years with Barnes & Thornburg as a business and litigation attorney, Mr. Forrest decided to pursue a practice that also incorporated the area of domestic relations law. Thus, he formed Forrest Legal, a locally rooted law firm dedicated to providing the highest quality of legal service. Mr. Forrest's goal is to combine the sophistication and quality typical of a large law firm with the individualized service of a small, local firm. Mr. Forrest's practice has been heavily concentrated in the areas of divorce, family law, domestic relations, and matrimonial law. He has represented clients in connection with various types of domestic relations issues, including dissolution of marriage, child support, child custody, paternity, adoption, surrogate birth issues, and the preparation of prenuptial agreements. In addition to family law, Mr. Forrest's practice regularly includes general estate planning, general business and transactional counsel, and commercial and civil litigation. Mr. Forrest has experience representing clients in a broad range of business and commercial subjects, including commercial transactions, asset recovery and protection, bankruptcy, contract negotiation and drafting, real estate, and business formation. Mr. Forrest has also represented clients in both federal and state court litigation on a variety of different issues, including bankruptcy litigation, contract disputes, and other commercial subjects. Mr. Forrest graduated from Manchester College, where he obtained his B.A. in philosophy. He received his J.D. cum laude from Indiana University - Bloomington in 2002. Mr. Forrest is a member and former chair of the Allen County Bar Association Family Law Section. He has been honored by Super Lawyers Magazine each year since 2010, and has been identified as one of the few Super Lawyers in his geographical region and practice area each year since 2016. Mr. Forrest is admitted to practice in the state of Indiana, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, and the Seventh Circuit United States Court of Appeals.
