Renae Linkedin Bio: My name is Renae M. Yoo, and I serve as Of Counsel at Katsivalis & Anderson Law, where I dedicate 100% of my practice to immigration law. My passion for advocating for immigrants' rights is the cornerstone of my work, focusing on employment-based, family-based, and humanitarian immigration cases. My expertise is particularly strong in complex employment matters, humanitarian cases within French-speaking Africa, and the critical intersection of humanitarian and employment immigration issues. I am also recognized as a leading attorney for student immigration needs across the country. My path to specializing in immigration law began after my undergraduate studies, leading to a Juris Doctor and a certificate in public interest law from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Throughout my career, I have been deeply committed to the immigrant community, offering pro bono legal services through organizations such as the Resurrection Project in Chicago and the Community Activism Law Alliance. Additionally, I served as the former committee chair of the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS) and continue to contribute in an advisory capacity, leveraging my experience to support and guide the organization's efforts. My professional present and past memberships include the American Immigration Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and Chicago Bar Association, indicating my active participation and commitment to the legal community. Beyond my professional life, I find balance and joy in yoga, knitting, crocheting, exploring new culinary experiences, and cherishing time with my family and pets. My interactions with my young daughter, in particular, offer a refreshing perspective on the world and inspire me daily.
