Justin Haber

Professionally, I am a lawyer with a wide and varied legal background, including honed litigation skills, drafting skills, and communication skills. This provides me the toolkit to meet and exceed my clients needs, whether in-house or otherwise. I started my career in general practice. Through my practice, I gained experience in a myriad of legal fields, both litigation and transactional. My experience ranges from real estate transactions involving multi-family properties, to employment litigation, where I have represented both plaintiffs and defendants before the EEOC and the Illinois’ Department of Human Resources, to general contract drafting and disputes. This allows me to provide sound, business-minded advice tested against real litigation. After making a geographic move, I transitioned from litigation into an In-House Counsel role at a cutting edge technology company. There I've leveraged my deep knowledge on behalf of one client. My role requires my input on both external contracts and internal advice. Externally, I am regularly engaged in complex contract negotiation, whether with clients or vendors, including high value agreements spanning decades. Internally, I provide advice and insight to colleagues from a variety of departments up through our executive leadership. Ultimately, whether in a firm or in-house, I have found success in my professional career because I am an excellent communicator. My success as a communicator is both from professional background and from my education in marketing and creative writing. I have a strong understanding of my own voice and also my audience, which impacts my writing whether in an employee handbook, discussion with colleagues, or even an adversarial setting. I enjoy learning new concepts and growing my knowledge base. In law school, I graduated in the top 10% of my class while simultaneously working and participating in a highly competitive trial advocacy program. In my career, I still seek out new and difficult concepts bearing on my industry to not only keep myself sharp, but to bring extra value to those I work with. Although I'm passionate about my work and find it engaging, I am so much more than my career. I'm a hiker, a dog lover, a board game enthusiast, family oriented, a show watcher, a rock climber, a couch potato, and on and on. I love meeting people, so reach out and get to know me.
