John Kurowski

John Kurowski’s work and experience in the law and social justice covers more than 40 years. He has lead a team of outstanding lawyers throughout the country at MG+M that handles some of the most complex litigation in the country. Today he consults on supporting strategic management of high risk civil litigation and teaching and mentoring the firm’s young lawyers. Today, he also spends a significant portion of his time lecturing and participating in social justice issues including organizing and presenting an international human rights symposium as well as supporting the Loyola Rome Center on a number of matters. John takes pride in teaching and giving back. On two occasions, he has been a Visiting Professor of Law at the Nicolaus Copernicus University School of Law and Administration in Torun, Poland. He is the creator, organizer and sponsor of a widely acclaimed annual Human Rights Symposium at the University of Warsaw, focusing on international social justice issues that has been presented 17 times since 2006.He was a Board member of the Greater St. Louis Chapter of JDRF (now Breakthrough T1D) from 2008-2022 and served as Board President from 2018-2020. He served on the Finance Committee of the International Board of Directors of JDRF. He continues to serve on its Professional Advisors Network and provides pro bono legal services to it and Type I diabetes patients on educational and other issues.He and his wife, Connie, are members of the Society of Fellows of the Aspen Institute and the Ignatian Legacy Fellows and participate in their programs throughout the year.He received his B.A. degree with Honors from Loyola University Chicago, graduating cum laude in History in 1975. He also attended the Loyola University John Felice Rome Center in Rome, Italy in 1973-1974. He received his law degree from St. Louis University in 1978. He is a member of the Dean's Advisory Council of the College of Arts and Sciences of Loyola University Chicago. He is currently Chairman of the Director's Advisory Council of Loyola's John Felice Rome Center which he has served since 2012. He was also President of its Alumni Board from 2012-2015. In June, 2013 Loyola presented Mr. Kurowski its John Felice Award in recognition of his contributions to the Rome Center, Loyola and to business and his community. In 2023 he was a recipient of the ICON award of the Missouri Lawyers Weekly.
