About Jon Cohen
After an Appellate Clerkship, I spent several years in-house with a Fortune 1000 company concentrating securities litigation. Thereafter, I joined a Chicago based law firm (Ungaretti & Harris) becoming a partner and later moved to a boutique law firm, Stahl Cowen Crowley Addis for twenty years. On January 1, 2021, along with all other Stahl Cowen lawyers, I joined Dickinson Wright, establishing a Chicago office. I have arbitrated over fifty cases, litigated commercial matters for over 30 years in various State and Federal courts, represented thousands of retirees through Retiree Committees in large commercial bankruptcy matters and I regularly represent clients with respect employment and trade secret cases. I serve as outside General Counsel to two large India based technology companies with over 800 employees in the U.S. and 5,000 employees worldwide. Has represented approximately twelve (12) bankruptcy Retiree Committees in Chapter 11 bankruptcies, recovering hundreds of millions of dollars for his clients. Created several VEBA Trusts to administer settlements received and to provide replacement health care plans, provided HIPAA training to VEBA Board members. Central to Jon's philosophy is to be reachable at all times, to immediately respond to client inquiries, and to learn as much about his clients as possible to maximize his value to them.
