About Shane Miller
I serve clients in two main ways as Senior Counsel at Freeman Mathis & Gary in Pittsburgh, PA. First, many employers face a lawsuit from a former employee, a competitor, or another third-party sooner or later. I defend the company at all steps in the case, starting with the initial interview all the way through trial and appeal (if necessary). I have represented employers of all shapes and sizes in many types of lawsuits, including claims for employment discrimination, hostile work environment/harassment, leave law violations, retaliation, unfair competition, wage and hour actions, and whistleblower claims. Second, I try to keep employers out of the courtroom in the first place. Specifically, I help employers prevent legal problems by providing legal advice about hiring, discipline, termination, leave requests, equal pay, non-compete agreements, and independent contractors; drafting employee handbooks, company policies, and employment agreements; and training employees on subjects like discrimination, harassment, leave requests, retaliation, and trade secret theft.
