Besides insurance coverage, my practice includes a broad range of insurance defense litigation, railroad law and litigation, trucking law and litigation, medical malpractice, aviation claims and intellectual property litigation. I have a passion for insurance coverage and frequently write and speak on insurance coverage and other legal topics. For a number of years I blogged daily about insurance coverage issues. Insurance coverage appeals to me because it has so many complex issues to be solved, which is why I call it the Briar Patch. Insurance policies, in a way, are philosophical documents that comment on what behavior is desirable and what is not. Insurance law is intriguing because it is almost entirely judge made, one of the last Common Law legal fields. Every word in an insurance policy is a reaction to some judicial decision.
