About Jack Burtch
My new book, "Raising the Bar, the Mentor Guidebook for New Lawyers" has been published by Routledge. It's written to help law firms and new associates succeed in launching the new lawyer's career. (www.raisingthebarguidebook.com) The book shows new lawyers how to make the difficult transition from law school to law practice. I'm passionate about helping other lawyers achieve satisfying careers and making their own, positive impact in our profession. As a lawyer trained in a large firm and now practicing in a boutique, I have been helping clients in labor and employment relations for a long time. As a mediator, I've been helping to resolve disputes for over 26 years. Since 1994, I've served as an Adjunct Professor of law with the University of Richmond Law School, teaching courses in Negotiation and Client Counseling.
