About Shane Marx
Shane is an ardent advocate of families in all of their forms. His background in mental health and social services gives him a unique perspective when dealing with opposing parties, witnesses, his clients, and the court. He provides his clients strategic, intelligent, and forceful advocacy with an appropriate balance of gentle reassurance throughout the legal process. Shane has significant skill and experience in legal matters involving: Divorce, division of marital estate, and alimony Custody, parent-time, and child support Pre/post-marital agreements Protective orders Child abuse, neglect, and dependency Paternity and parentage Adoption Surrogacy and gestational agreements, donor agreements, and assisted reproductive technology Same-sex relationship recognition/dissolution and parental rights Alternative family forms Shane completed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Justice Ronald E. Nehring of the Utah Supreme Court in 2011. He speaks Spanish fluently and regularly provides pro bono legal advice to members of the LGBT community at the Utah Pride Center’s Rainbow Law Clinic. In 2015, he was named as a SuperLawyers® Rising Star in the Mountain States for family law.
