Matt Harrison

I am passionate about my work and enjoy learning about the ever-changing landscape of human relations and employment law. I love engaging clients to find the best solution for each situation and I take pride in my ability to provide my clients with first-rate legal work. My practice focuses on Employment Law and civil litigation. My civil litigation experience includes practicing in the areas of employment discrimination, wage and hour, ADA access defense, insurance defense and coverage matters, transportation, HOA and other organizational disputes, a wide variety of tort claims, contracts, and other areas. I also have considerable experience drafting employment agreements, policies, and procedures, for both public and private entities. My broad government experience includes defending government entities and representing clients at the local, state, and federal levels, advising clients on day-to-day compliance and other issues, representing clients in administrative hearings, agency action, and in both state and federal court, defending municipal and county entities in various types of litigation, and addressing various issues other government issues such as governmental immunity, notice of claim requirements and defenses, and other statutory analysis. I also have significant experience defending governmental and private clients against accessibility claims brought under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Through litigation defense and consultation I have successfully helped many clients correct violations and resolve claims through mediation, settlement, and, most notably, by prevailing via motion without fees or costs being awarded to the plaintiff. I also provide training and presentations on accessibility and removal of barriers pursuant to the ADA. I love what I do and work hard to be at the top of my field but I enjoy many activities and relationships away from work which allows me to be a successful and dedicated advocate and employee. I love to spend time with my family and the best part of my day is being greeted by my son and daughter when I come home. My wife and I love to travel and experience first-hand the sights, people, and food of different countries and cultures. We love to cook and often try out new recipes and foods at home. I love the outdoors and depending on the season I can be found road or mountain biking, snowboarding, or engaged in other pursuits that allow me to experience the mountains, desert, and other beautiful scenery of the western United States.
