About Brandon Hobbs
I am an attorney with over two decades' experience in health care law, federal and state privacy and security regulation, HIPPA law, and medical malpractice defense litigation. I have successfully defended hospitals, physicians, surgeons, nurses, and other health care providers in Utah medical malpractice matters, both in trial and at arbitration. I have also guided clients through early resolution of cases and at mediation. In addition to civil litigation, I consult with software companies, health care providers, and other private entities in navigating federal and state privacy and electronic health record regulations, including HIPAA and the 21st Century CURES Act. I also represent institutional health care providers at the Utah Department of Health, Division of Medicaid and Health Financing. I have represented health care provider clients at numerous administrative hearings, both at the UDOH and at the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing for prelitigation and licensee investigatory matters.
