About Artemis Vamianakis
Artemis Vamianakis is a shareholder and board member at Fabian VanCott practicing complex commercial litigation, administrative litigation, and appeals in the areas of energy, environment, natural resources, real property, and employment law. She has experience representing clients in complex commercial disputes and appeals involving breach of contract, commercial lease disputes, warranty claims, misappropriation of trade secrets, misrepresentation and several other areas. Artemis also has significant experience in civil and administrative proceedings, appeals, and special investigations involving mine safety (MSHA), occupational safety (OSHA, UOSH), and industrial and mining accidents. She also has experience appearing before the Utah Board and Division of Oil Gas and Mining (BOGM, DOBM), drafting comments on proposed rulemaking and challenging final federal agency action such as EPA regulations promulgated under the Clean Air Act or penalties assessed by the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission (FMSHRC). Artemis has successfully argued several motions, defeated claims on motions to dismiss and summary judgment, and resolved complex disputes for clients through negotiation and mediation. Artemis has also been part of trial teams pursuing litigation in state and federal courts in Utah, administrative hearings in Utah, Illinois, Kentucky, and West Virginia, and appeals before the FMSHRC and the D.C. Circuit, Fifth Circuit, Sixth Circuit and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeal. Artemis is active in the community and serves in leadership for Friends for Sight, the Leadership Committee of And Justice for All, the Utah Center for Legal Inclusion, the Aldon J. Anderson Inn of Court, and the Utah Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, among others. Artemis received her law degree from the University of Utah S. J. Quinney College of Law, where she graduated with honors and won numerous awards and scholarships while holding the position of Editor-in-Chief/Executive Director of the Extro Muros International Law Journal/Global Justice Think Tank, completing a Quinney Research Fellowship, competing in the Jessup International Moot Court Competition, and completing an internship for Utah Supreme Court Chief Justice Matthew Durrant. She earned a double-major, honors bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah, graduating summa cum laude. Artemis is licensed to practice in Utah’s state and federal courts and in the D.C., Fifth, Sixth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeal and U.S. Supreme Court.
