About Fraser Roy
I currently practice law with the law firm of Workman Nydegger in Salt Lake City, Utah. In past years I have prepared and prosecuted patent applications in a number of different technical fields, including general mechanical systems and devices, medical device technologies, optical systems, and optical component processing. I have prepared and prosecuted numerous patent applications in the United States, including filing applications and related documents, responding to office actions from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, including performing in-person and telephonic interviews with Examiners at the United States Patent and Trademark Office to advance prosecution. I have also filed numerous international applications and directed prosecution of nationalized foreign applications filed with the European Patent Office and those patent offices in Australia, Canada, China, Japan, to name a few. In addition my patent prosecution practice, I have experience with client counseling, licensing, and general transactional work associated with protecting intellectual property assets, such as patents, copyrights, and trademarks. I am the past Chair of the AIPLA IP Law Associations committee and past member of the Utah State Bar IP Section CLE Committee. While in law school, I served as the president of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association. Specialties: Registered Patent Attorney; U.
