Forty three years of litigation and arbitration experience in federal and state courts and before AAA and FINRA. Specialties: Defense of claims of unfair competition, misappropriation of trade secrets and breach of employment agreements. General commercial litigation and arbitration, plaintiffs and defendants. Insurance coverage, regarding a wide variety of policy forms, but particularly regarding insurance coverage for intellectual property claims. While primarily a defense lawyer, I often represent individual claimants or counterclaimants in arbitration before FINRA or AAA. This is usually in employment cases or shareholder disputes regarding revenue streams created by relationships the employee or shareholder managed. I have obtained several very significant awards on behalf of my clients, qualifying me for membership in the Multi Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Since the change in Georgia law concerning employee restrictive covenants, I have represented plaintiffs seeking to enforce covenants and protect trade secrets. I write enforceable covenants. My 40 years experience getting departing employees out of restrictive covenants provides an unmatched base of expertise in exploiting the mistakes departing employees make in transitions. I served on the State Bar Audit committee for 8 years, including as chair, cementing my expertise in cases involving accountants in court and before regulators. I also completed four years of self study as my Dyslexic son studied accounting at Reinhardt University (as his tutor) and he graduated summa cum laude! I represent employees who have been terminated or have suffered other adverse employment actions very frequently now. I also represent plaintiffs in personal injury, and commercial litigation matters. As a plaintiff's lawyer pursuing defendants who would even file bankruptcy to avoid payment, I have had four different debtors' discharge denied, even though I do not appear in bankruptcy court that often. My zeal in representing my clients is amply demonstrated in light of these denials of discharge, after which the debtors paid all or a substantial part of the debt they owed my clients.
