About Steven Schwartzapfel
I am the founding member of Schwartzapfel Lawyers, P.C. Since I began practicing law in 1983, I have represented clients on all types of personal injury cases, including catastrophic injury, wrongful death, construction site injuries, slip and fall, auto and motorcycle accidents, medical malpractice, nursing home neglect, products liability, workers’ compensation and social security disability. I am proud to say my firm has grown into one of the most respected and well recognized personal injury law firms in the State of New York. Over the course of my career, I have achieved excellent results and the firm has won hundreds of millions of dollars for our clients. I am very dedicated and committed to my clients, and I treat each client like they are family. A little about my background: My passion for helping those in need stems from my childhood. Growing up, I always knew what it was like to deal with hardship as I watched my father suffer from multiple sclerosis. I experienced firsthand what it was like when a person can’t take care of themselves, and so I understand the stress and frustration of not being able to do the simplest things in life. I can relate to the losses suffered and the impact and stress placed upon the entire family. One of the greatest influences in my life was joining the Boy Scouts, which is where I learned 3 positive principles; “On my Honor, I will do my best,” Be prepared” and “Do a good turn daily.” I asked myself how I could constantly practice these principles in life, and thought what better way to help people than to become a lawyer. It would be an honor to speak on behalf of others and to protect the rights of those that cannot protect themselves. My personal philosophy is that we go through life only once and if I can help someone along the way, why wouldn't I do so? I take great pleasure and fulfillment in helping make someone’s life better in a time of suffering. For me, being a lawyer isn’t a job, but it’s personal.
