Such commitment has brought impressive outcomes from the very outset of his career. This included obtaining one of the highest settlements ever against the City of New York in excess of $8.3 million dollars for a young woman partially paralyzed in an automobile accident on a negligently maintained roadway. Not only did Matt achieve an exceptional result that changed a catastrophically injured young woman’s life, but he made a lifelong friend. His goal is to be not only your attorney, but a trusted adviser in time of need. Matt has also been extensively involved in litigating the September 11th Victims Compensation Fund, the East 51st Street Crane Collapse, the Staten Island Ferry Crash, the Con-Ed Steam Pipe Explosion and other high-profile cases. He has likewise represented numerous construction and other companies in multi-million dollar lawsuits against them. Matt received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Labor Relations from Cornell University in 2000. In 2003, he obtained his Juris Doctor from St. John’s University, having been admitted as a St. Thomas Aquinas scholar. Matt then worked at several high profile litigation firms in New York City obtaining impressive results for both plaintiffs and defendants. At the same time, he also obtained his Masters of Business Administration in 2011 from New York University’s prestigious Stern School of Business to enhance his business acumen in the court room. Matt is currently a partner and trial attorney at the law offices of Fellows Hymowitz Rice exclusively handling matters for clients that have suffered severe personal injuries.
