Ms. Townley's arbitration and mediation experience over the past forty years includes Commercial, Class Actions, Employment, Labor, Individual & Individually Negotiated Executive Employment Agreements and Large or Mass Complex Cases. Ms. Townley has arbitrated hundreds of employment arbitrations, as chair, sole and co-arbitrator, per various institutional rules over the past 20 years. She is also a panel arbitrator with the London Court International Arbitration and the ICC. She is skilled and experienced in C-Suite Executive Contract dispute matters, such as change in control, misrepresentation, misappropriation, restricted stock, vesting, Wall Street bonuses, retention bonus, bonus pools, trading platforms, fraud, fraudulent inducement, and related state torts. Also, Ms. Townley has arbitrated or mediated hundreds of claims of statutory discrimination, including age, race, sex, religion, national origin, sexual harassment, disabilities, pregnancy, retaliation, and compensatory and other damages. This experience includes claims under FLSA, FMLA, CFAA, civil RICO, OSHA, SOX and the NYSHRL and the NYCHRL. Ms. Townley has handled thousands of arbitrations/mediations over the past 30 years, including the following sample matters: * C-suite Executive alleged breach of contract claim regarding miscalculation of entitlement to pension/life insurance pursuant to severance agreement that turned on employment by US foreign affiliate in UK following change of control. *Claimant managing director/equity of European products to financial institutions of Respondent publicly-traded bank, allege material breach of contract for fail to pay deferred compensation/vested stock after termination. *Claimant alleges breach of contract regarding joint venture to develop international syndicated television programming. *Claim of diversion of assets/fraud by partner for embargoed shipment to non-agreed port from Hong Kong. In the labor arena, she has been a contract arbitrator in various collective bargaining agreements involving the education sector, such as the UFT and the NYC Department of Education and in higher education at Columbia University and Rutgers University. She has chaired various interest arbitration panels for cities and their police and firefighter unions. She has arbitrated matters in the entertainment industry, including Broadway, television and movie productions. In health care, she arbitrates disputes between medical centers and its doctors and nurses.
