About Edward Gilbert
Edward P. Gilbert is a Partner in the Firm's Business Litigation department, and also serves as the Firm's General Counsel. Since joining the Firm in 1998, Ed has successfully handled a broad range of litigation, including officer and director litigation, partnership disputes, employment litigation, disputes concerning allegations of sexual assault and other complex commercial disputes in both state and federal court. In his representation of individuals and corporations, Ed has handled all phases of litigation, from pleading through trial verdict and appeal. Ed has conducted internal investigations for public and private companies. These investigations have been conducted in numerous areas, including investigations arising from allegations of accounting fraud, executive improprieties and sexual misconduct. Ed also assists the Bankruptcy & Restructuring Department in litigation matters. Ed has handled numerous contested bankruptcy matters, including Bankruptcy Rule 2004 investigative proceedings. Before entering private practice, Ed served as an Assistant District Attorney with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office under Robert M. Morgenthau. During his tenure there, he conducted more than twenty trials and served as a member of the Office's Sex Crimes Unit.
