About Ron Akasaka
After almost two decades of litigation experience, I created SMART ADR, having adopted the practice that the best resolution to a conflict is one that the parties can craft themselves. SMART ADR puts parties in the best possible position to do just that. I privately mediate cases ranging in size and complexity all throughout California, and assist parties and their counsel in achieving efficient resolutions to their conflicts outside of the expensive and time-consuming court system. I received my Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute at Pepperdine University School of Law in 1998. My private mediation practice focuses on specialty areas such as cases involving the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, Magnuson-Moss Consumer Warranty Act, Consumer Legal Remedies Act, Business & Professions Code violations, and various personal injury and commercial disputes. I currently serve as a federal mediator for the Central District ADR Panel. Over the past several years I have served as a mediator on the Los Angeles County Superior Court ADR Panel, as well as serving as a Voluntary Settlement Conference officer, and a mediator in the LASC Civil Harassment Mediation Program.
