About Pamela Hemminger

I have been working as a coder since 2023 with Optum . I learned new skills as well as practicing my skills as a coder. My role was coding for risk adjusting on many projects learning new guidelines and instructions .I push myself to learn and achieve 96% accuracy on the assessments we had to take every 2 weeks. I learned to work as a team and as an individual coder. I did work remotely for the company and was extremely reliable , and coding for the time I was online. I learned to adapt to different chart forms, doctor’s notes, terminology, and conditions. I have completed the AAPC courses for CPC and CPB, as well as passing the exams for both to gain my certifications CPC and CPB in February of 2023 . I am also up to date with my CE credits and membership with AAPC. As a student in the courses I learned more anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, pathophysiology, as well as CPT coding, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, insurance verification, HIPPA, ABN, claim forms, LCD,NCD,NCCI edits, RVU, Medicare, and many more skills needed to do the job as a Medical coder and biller. I work well with others, take direction and follow all guidelines set forth, as well as believe interpersonal skills with others is vitally important. I am extremely reliable as well as work hard to succeed in my job. I love taking on new challenges and expanding my knowledge in all that I do. Always willing to learn new things to stay current. .
