About Tom Geidt

I’ve had the good fortune to devote more than five decades to the practice of labor and employment law, a specialty area I have always found endlessly fascinating. For most of that time, I have advised and defended employers in all aspects of employment litigation and counseling. My primary focus in recent years has been on wage and hour litigation and counseling. I enjoy helping employers solve complex, cutting-edge wage and hour problems. I also have defended employers in well over 100 wage-hour class and “PAGA” actions, first-chaired multiple jury trials, argued before the federal and California appellate courts, and authored briefs to the U.S. and California Supreme Courts. I regularly handle arbitrations and administrative proceedings before the Department of Labor, NLRB, EEOC, and other agencies. During my career I’ve been privileged to be able to counsel over 500 employers across the U.S. on a wide variety of employment law issues. I have spoken and written widely on pretty much all employment law topics of interest to employers.I have been AV Rated by Martindale Hubbell for over 30 years, and repeatedly named to Northern California Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers of Northern California. I recently stepped down from my partnership at the firm I co-founded, but I remain committed to practicing law in this specialty area that I find so interesting and challenging.
