I am a Shareholder at Littler Mendelson, P.C., a global law firm exclusively devoted to representing employers and management in every aspect of labor and employment law. For more than 20 years, I have successfully defended, as lead counsel, national and local employers in complex class and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) wage and hour California litigation matters, including those involving unionized workforces. I have successfully litigated over 300 employment-related suits to conclusion and have represented global and national employers through jury trial. I have obtained court orders compelling enforcement of arbitration agreements with class action waivers and requiring employees to arbitrate individual PAGA and other claims. I have also negotiated resolutions of complex wage and hour class, PAGA and other employment-related cases and obtained excellent results for clients. In addition to my extensive class action experience, I have defeated and negotiated dismissals of wrongful termination, discrimination, and other claims in state and federal courts and before the EEOC. I regularly advise C-suite and in-house counsel regarding wage and hour and other employment-related best practices; provide advice regarding ICE raids in the workplace; draft and review policies, including arbitration agreements; and counsel clients in matters involving mass layoffs, discipline, wrongful termination, whistleblowing, retaliation, harassment, discrimination, and accommodation issues. I have also developed litigation avoidance strategies to enable foreign sovereign employers to continue employing personnel working in U.S. without ensuing claims while preserving their sovereign immunity. I represent many companies that employ Spanish-speaking workforces in the U.S. As a bilingual attorney, I provide Spanish language services concerning harassment prevention, policy training, and company investigations. I draft and oversee the translation of Spanish language employee handbooks, policies, and arbitration agreements for clients. In litigation, I have extensive experience deposing Spanish-speaking parties and conducting Spanish language declaration campaigns in wage and hour class actions.
