About Fred Silberberg

I spent over 37 years handling complex family law litigation for high profile and high net worth individuals 32 of which were through my own firm. While I still handle some family law matters on a select basis, including appellate work, my focus has changed to the area of Assisted Reproductive Technology Law. I have significant experience in this area, having represented parties in high-stakes litigation over who can control cryopreserved embryos and who is a legal and custodial parent of children created by non-married parties through IVF. My work in this regard has resulted in changes to California parentage law through through appellate court work. With my detailed knowledge of this area, I am uniquely suited to assist people with the legal aspects of creating a family through fertility treatments. This includes such things as locating surrogates, preparing gestational carrier agreements, preparing sperm and egg donor agreements and the like. I work closely with intended parents and reproductive medicine professionals to help people reach their goal of creating a family, and protecting the parentage rights that come with that. My writing and opinions on family law have appeared in The Huffington Post and the Los Angeles Daily Journal. In addition to appearances on Good Morning America, The Today Show, The Doctors, and The Katie Couric Show among others, I have been quoted in national newspapers and media, including The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, USA Today, E!, and Entertainment Tonight.
