I practiced law at large local and national law firms for over 40 years. My practice focused on individual and corporate tax matters and on employee benefit, executive compensation, stock option, deferred compensation and related matters. I served as outside counsel to the Screen Actors Guild and Directors Guild Pension and Health Plans for many years. I founded Mark Hess Tax Consultancy Corp. in 2023, a company that provides ERISA and tax consulting services to law firms, accounting firms, tax-exempt organizations, large and mid-size businesses and high net worth individuals. Many of my clients are athletes and members of the entertainment industry, including actors, writers, directors, producers, songwriters, and bands.
