Irina Goldberg

Irina Goldberg is a tax attorney in North County, San Diego. Her practice involves representing clients in matters before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Franchise Tax Board (FTB), State Board of Equalization (SBOE) and Employment Development Department (EDD). She defends individuals and business with serious tax problems and financial concerns in the areas of criminal tax, offshore accounts, tax appeals, audits, trust fund taxes, offer in compromises and more. Before opening her own firm, Ms. Goldberg was an associate attorney at the Law Offices of Ronson J. Shamoun in downtown San Diego where she built relationships with many representatives from Federal and State taxing agencies and helped many clients resolve a wide variety of tax problems. Prior to joining The Law Offices of Ronson J. Shamoun, Ms. Goldberg was deeply involved in community outreach through the Low-Income Federal Tax Clinic at the University of San Diego (USD) School of Law. Ms. Goldberg received her Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.) from USD School of Law and graduated magna cum laude from Whittier Law School where she received her Juris Doctorate (J.D.). At Whittier, she was awarded the Outstanding Graduate in Legal Writing by the faculty and received CALI awards recognizing top performance in her class for the areas of Federal Income Taxation, Corporate Taxation, and Advanced Legal Reasoning. Ms. Goldberg also served on the editorial board for the Whittier Law Review and took second place in the 9th Annual American Bar Association (ABA) Tax Challenge. She completed her undergraduate education in Political Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Ms. Goldberg currently lives in San Diego with her husband, Alex and, as of October 31, 2012, her son Nikolai. Outside her practice Ms. Goldberg enjoys a wide variety of fitness activities, cooking, reading and the arts.
