About Rachelle Staley

I’m a California attorney and Fractional COO who helps solo and small law firms build the HR foundation, systems, and team structure they need to grow without chaos. My background blends California-grade employment-law compliance, law firm operations, and high-pressure leadership because that’s where firms tend to struggle the most. Before practicing law, I spent years in corporate operations and team leadership at Kaplan Test Prep, managing performance, student experience, instructor coordination, and enrollment strategy in one of for-profit education’s most competitive environments. It was my first training in aligning people, systems, and client experience - the exact foundation I use today in legal operations. From there, I practiced California employment law on both the plaintiff and defense side, gaining firsthand knowledge of how poorly structured HR systems, unclear expectations, and inconsistent documentation turn into legal and cultural problems. Later, as Managing Attorney and de facto COO at a California personal injury firm, I led HR, operations, intake, workflows, policy development, and team performance during years of internal transition and rapid growth. It was the environment where I discovered my true through-line: I fix broken systems. I turn overwhelm into order. I build clarity where things fall apart.
