Artist named in "Wyrm's Footnotes." Contributed illustrations to "Different Worlds" magazine, including one used in the premier issue launched in 1979. "Different Worlds" magazine is reputed to have been the first magazine specifically designed to deal with "role-playing games" subject matter. Assist. Co-Chair of Los Angeles Police Department's (LAPD's) West L.A. Community-Police Advisory Board (WLA C-PAB, 1/1999 - 1/2001). Chair of WLA C-PAB Crisis Response Committee (CRC) 8/1998 - 4/2000). Reviewed operations of certain LAPD WLA Division C-PAB programs including: Helped re-establish West L.A. Business Watch Program (with CRC member Jean Shigamatsu) and obtained a funding pledge from the WLA Chamber of Commerce; Sought more resources for Domestic Abuse Response Team program (started by CRC member Patti Pricket); Recruited volunteers for L.A. Mayor Richard Riodan's "Crisis Response Team" (directed by Jeff Zimmerman) and discussed issues encountered by similar "Trauma Intervention Program" (earlier created by CRC member Bea Stubbings); Conducted CRC meetings in specifically addressing the issue of the appearance or existence of racial profiling by LAPD, including a meeting in 1999 that was attended by LAPD WLA Division Command Staff and representatives of the Office of Mayor Richard Riordan, the Office of Councilmember Cindy Miscikowsky (11th District) and, the Office of Michael Feuer (5th District); Proposed possible ways to define "racial profiling." In 1999, called for creation of an "L.A. Emergency Traffic Management Plan for the Sepulveda Pass/405 Freeway corridor" that would have used a proposed "Traffic Congestion Magnitude Scale" to authorize implementation of traffic congestion mitigation protocols. (The Plan received positive evaluations in a student review done at the USC School of Engineering in 2000); Participated as a member of LAPD's C-PAB monitoring group to identify potential security threats against the August 2000 Democratic National Convention (DNC) held at the Staples Center; Discovered a possible false flag "anarchist" attack plan invitation to target the 2000 DNC published in a hidden link on the website of a far right-wing extremist group called the "National Alliance"; Suggested measures to help improve staffing and prevent burn-out of Operators of the "911" emergency telephone system; Advocated the development of an additional "611" non-emergency telephone system alternative. (LAPD soon afterwards adopted "1-877-ASK LAPD" and the City of L.A. adopted "311" non-emergency telephone systems).
