About Stephanie DeFonte
I have been practicing law since November of 2000 in the field of general civil litigation, with an emphasis on medical malpractice. I represented various healthcare providers, including doctors, nurses and hospitals for ten years. Through my work as a medical malpractice defense attorney, I interacted with hospital personnel, including members from Risk Management, heads of departments and nursing staff. I began representing plaintiffs in medical malpractice matters almost five years ago. My extensive defense background has enabled me to bring a unique insight and approach to working with plaintiffs. My experience includes research and writing, law and motion, case analysis, evaluation, discovery, party depositions, percipient witness depositions as well as expert witness depositions, preparing and arguing dispositive motions, mediation, arbitration, pre-trial and trial work.
