About Mitchell Frazen
Mitch is a founding partner of Litchfield Cavo LLP, a national trial law firm of more than 260 attorneys with offices in Chicago and 24 other cities nationwide. Mitch served for the first twelve years of the firm's existence as a member of its Executive Committee, and then for ten years as its General Counsel. He also serves as Local Office Managing Partner for the Firm's Arizona-Phoenix Office. Over more than four decades of litigation practice, Mitch has defended a wide variety of civil actions in Illinois state and federal courts, and he has been admitted pro hac vice in over a dozen other jurisdictions. He prosecuted appeals before the Illinois Supreme Court and multiple United States Circuit Courts of Appeal. Mitch defends mass tort and other class actions, construction defect claims and construction-related personal injury actions, professional liability cases (against lawyers, accountants, insurance agents and brokers, directors and officers, municipal officials and police officers), sexual abuse cases against churches and social service agencies, and motor vehicle accident and premises liability cases involving deaths and catastrophic personal injuries. He has defended manufacturers in commercial litigation, and insurers in coverage and bad faith actions, prosecuted policy rescission actions and coverage litigation against policyholders and between excess and primary insurers. Mitch is regularly engaged by excess insurers to independently evaluate their potential exposure in catastrophic personal injury and death cases, and he has been retained as a consulting/testifying expert witness on insurance defense issues. He frequently mediates his cases, and he served as a court-certified arbitrator in dozens of mandatory arbitration hearings in the Law Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois.
