About Jesse Hoffman
I graduated from SMU's Dedman School of Law and was admitted to the Texas State Bar in May 2009. Thereafter I practiced for 2 years as an Assistant Attorney General for the state of Texas and then moved into my current position as an associate with McCathern Mooty LLP. I am currently admitted to practice in the state of Texas, all Federal District courts in Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. I earned my undergraduate degree at UT (2000-2004) with a double major in English and Political Science. I was a member of the Sigma Tau Delta Honors Society and I also spent two years (2003-2004) as a legislative intern with the TX House of Representatives under Freshman Representative Bob Griggs. After undergrad I spent a year working for American Airlines where I helped to develop an ongoing multi-departmental conference series aimed at improving the Airline's protocols and overall effectiveness. During law school (2005-2009) I gained editorial experience working with GetLegal.com, a good deal of client & courtroom experience in the criminal clinic, and over 3 years of legal research experience working for Prof. Ellen Pryor as a research assistant and later as an ALI Researcher helping to prepare the Restatement 3rd Torts. I received my bar license in May 2009 and began my civil litigation practice with the Law Enforcement Defense Division of the Texas Attorney General's Office handling the legal defense for state law enforcement agencies and several state medical providers. I left the Attorney General's Office in April 2011 for my current position as an associate with McCathern Mooty LLP. I have continued to practice general litigation and Tort law with McCathern, as well as a great deal more employment matters. My professional goal is to be a lasting and productive member of my firm, and to contribute proactively to my community.
